New Haven Fire/EMS were dispatched on a possible chimney fire. DC 13 arrived on scene, took command noted flames through the roof and advised a working fire. Truck 17 advanced the 1st line and set up aerial operations. Engine 12 assisted with advancing lines, T-14 & S-18 set-up dump tank operations. M-45 took water Supply and Fire 122 took safety. A tanker response was requested from Poe and Hoagland. Woodburn Fire had a crew on stand-by at Base 10. Southwest Fire assisted with overhaul. Great job by all and thanks to all the mutual aid crews.

New Haven-Adams Township Fire/EMS units were dispatched to a possible fire. Prior to Truck 17 arriving on scene Allen County Dispatch advised due to information obtained via callers, it was a working fire. Allen County Dispatch requested tankers from Hoagland and Poe. Med Car 45 arrived on scene took command and confirmed a working fire (704). Truck 17 advanced 2 handlines and made an attack to the attic. Units making the response were Engines 12, 42, 121, Truck 17, Tankers 14, 44, 124, Emergency 45 Truck I & II, Tankers from Hoagland and Poe responded and returned to service shortly and the Insulation Vac Unit from FWFD Engine 12.

ON 07/30/2009 AT APPROX. 0800 HRS NEW HAVEN FIRE & EMS RESPONDED TO A REPORTED RESIDENTIAL HOUSE FIRE IN THE 100 BLOCK OF BADE ST. FIRE 11 WAS FIRST ON SCENE AND REPORTED SMOKE VISIBLE WITH WORKING FIRE AND TOOK COMMAND OUT FRONT. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION FIRE 11 ADVISED IT WAS A ROOM AND CONTENTS FIRE IN A BEDROOM. TRUCK 17 LAYED INTO THE FIRE FROM THE PLUG OUT FRONT WHEN THEY ARRIVED ON SCENE. TRUCK 17 CREW MADE ENTRY INTO THE STRUCTURE WITH 1 3/4" TO EXTINGUISH. DC13 ARRIVED AND ASSUMED SAFETY. ENGINE 42 ARRIVED ON SCENE AND ASSUMED RIT TEAM OPERATIONS. THE FIRE WAS UNDER CONTROL AND EXTINGUISHED 4 MINUTES AFTER THE TRUCK COMPANY ARRIVED. ALL OCCUPANTS OF THE HOUSE WERE OUT UPON ARRIVAL OF FIRE 11. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. FIRE 11, TRUCK 17, EMERGENCY 45, ENGINE 42, & DC13 ALL MADE THE JOB.

New Haven units were dispatched to a working fire, DC13 arrived on scene and found a 704 garage. T17 arrived on scene located a plug and layed into the fire. The fire was extinguished and overhaul was accomplished. All units returned to service without incident. F11,DC13,M45,T17,E12,E42,F19,E45 all made the job!

Just before midnight fire & EMS were dispatched to an accident involving a car and motorcycle. Engine 11, Squad 18, and E-45 all responded on the call. Units transported 1 patient to the hospital.

NHATFD units responded to a working garage fire in the early morning hours Sunday. NH Police units arrived first on the scene and confirmed a 704. The fire was extinguished and overhauled, all units returned to service without incident. E11,E45, E42,S18,DC13,F11,F19 all made the job!

Shortly after midnight Truck 17 was dispatched for a RIT response on a large barn fire with St. Joe Twp. & Northeast Fire. Fire 71 arrived on scene and requested a tanker response bringing Tankers 44 & 14 from New Haven. Truck 17 and Tank 14 crew set up a defensive position with blitzfire nozzle, while Tanker 44 & 14 shuttled water.

This year the Ride for Life will again take place just outside of New Haven @ US 30 & SR 101. This is an event organized by several area groups including Southwest Allen County Fire District, Donor Services of Indiana, Rock 104 and several others to raise funds for the Hoosier Burn Camp for kids. Several Allen County Firefighters are active with the Hoosier Burn Camp, including our own Captain Sztuk who is a counselor at the camp. On Friday night there is a car cruise in from 4:00 - 9:00pm. Then on Saturday there is a Motorcycle Ride & events planned all day long with proceeds to benefit the kids of the Hoosier Burn Camp. There will be several specialty Fire Appratus on display Saturday along with our own 1925 Studebaker

Engine 11 was put into service after a few weeks of hard work by all 3 shifts getting tools mounted and marked, brackets mounted appropriately, hose packed in all hose beds, radios installed, tow hitch for water rescue and familiarization training. Shortly after 4pm today Engine 11 was in service and made it's first run just moments later on a minor car crash. Around midnight Engine 11 made a motorcyle accident. Special thanks to everyone from all shifts/stations who helped to get the new Engine in service as quickly as possible. Also a big thanks to our community and our Governing body for the support of our department and the ability to purchase quality apparatus.

On Wenesday April 29th the New Engine was purchased and driven to New Haven-Adams Township. The New engine was purchased from Pierce Manufacturing, and picked up from their plant in Appleton, Wisconsin.

Units were dispatched to a pedestrian struck on I469. Units arrived on scene and found a semi and a dump truck involved in a crash. one patient was taken to the hospital via EMS 45. All units returned to service without incident.

This week for training New Haven firefighters completed the first annual combat challenge. Skills stations completed were ventilation(axe), equipment carry and maneuvering (dumbbells and cones), hoseline and hydtrant hook-up, hand over hand equipment raise, and victim carry. Firefighters were randomnly paired together in teams of 2 with 1 firefighter being under 35 and the other being over 35. Each team was timed for the title of champions, a combat challenge shirt, a plaque to have the names of every winning team each year for this new annual tradition. Special thanks Instructors Dave Parmenter and Cody Brooks for putting together this challenge and for making the necessary props.

On Saturday crews from New Haven and Woodburn went to the Regional Public Safety Academy for training. Firefighters were able to practice 4 training evolutions that included a PPE drill, Basement fire, kitchen fire, and bedroom fire. While also completing the stations of Back-up, Rehab, and Engine Operations. Special Thanks to DC Parker for arranging the training.

On Wednesday July 30th, 2008 well over 100 Frirends, Family and members of the FIRE/EMS service joined in the ceremony to celebrate the achievement of both Fire and EMS Academy's. The ceremony was kicked off by the Fort Wayne Fire Department Pipe and Drum Corps (with a special thanks to Captain Bruce Bickley) along with Aboite Township Honor Guard ( thanks to Darren Kieffer). Our own Chuck Lake wonderfully was the Master of Ceremony for us. Mayor Terry McDonald provideds everyone with an uplifting speech. Both Fire and EMS Chiefs also gave a short reflection. Special thanks to the numerous individuals who came together for not only the adademy's but to put together this ceremony...THANK YOU.

Shortly after 7pm New Haven Fire and EMS were dispatched to a possible vehicle fire. Tanker 44, Emergency 45 and Engine 11 all responded on the initial dispatch. Tank 44 was the first unit on scene and advised a fully involved rail car fire-then bringing a full crew on Squad 18, Tanker 14, Engine 42 and Truck 17. Engine 162 was called in to assist with overhaul. All units cleared without incident.

Units were dispatched to a barn fire, bringing Poe, Hoagland and New Haven on the initial dispatch. Addiitional units responded from Monroeville. Also an Area 4 tanker response was requested bringing Tankers from New Haven, Woodburn, Poe, Hoagland, Monroeville, and Southwest. Fire 133 had command of the incident. Truck 17 was utilized to protect the nearby house. Units From New Haven were Truck 17, Tankers 14, 44, 124, and Fire 11. Units from Hoagland were Engine 131, Tanker 133, Emergency 135, and Fire 133. Units from Poe were Tanker 103, 104 and Emergency 105. Units from Monroeville were Engine 31, Tanker 34, and Rescue 38. Units from Southwest were Tankers 153 and 253. Woodburn responded with Tanker 163. All units cleared without incident.

NHATFD units responded to a Semi roll-over. On arrival the driver was out of the vehicle. The driver was escorted to EMS 45 and taken to the hospital. Fire units stayed on the job to take care of a diesel fuel leak. The leak was contained to the roadway and a drainage ditch. Absorb-all was brought in by Truck 19 and Squad 18 to help contain the leak. Units making the job were E11, S18, T19, F11, all units cleared without incident.

The B-shift responded to reports of a semi tractor fire. New Haven communications came back stating they have recieved mutiple calls. D.C. 13 arrived and confirmed a fully involved truck. Truck 17 and Squad 18 extinguished the fire and performed overhaul. D.C. 13 held the assignment to the two companies.
