New Haven Fire & EMS were dispatched to a house fire @ 0056 Firday morning. First unit on the scene @ 0058 found a detached garage, as well as the two homes on both sides of it on fire. The garage was a total loss, one of the homes received major damage, the other moderate damage. Occupants and neighbors state they heard thunder then lightening just seconds before seeing flames at the back and top of the detached garage. Downed live electrical lines at the fire scene near the garage hampered suppression efforts for a short period of time. All occupants got out of the homes safely, and there were no injuries. The fire was brought under control @ 0137 hrs. Responding units were Truck 17, Engines 12, 42, & 121, Squad 18, Ambulance 45, Med Car 45, D.C. 13, Fire 11, and Fire 19.
